Before you buy an eSIM for Italy
No registration required for tourist eSIMs. Italy's mobile infrastructure is improving rapidly; rural southern Italy and Sardinia can still have gaps.
- Check your exact phone model supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. Confirm when the plan's validity starts: at purchase, installation or first network connection.
- Match the data allowance and validity to your trip. Check hotspot support, any speed caps and the fair-use policy before choosing an โunlimitedโ plan.
- Confirm coverage with the provider for your actual itinerary in Italy, not just the arrival airport. Check whether calls and SMS are included or the plan is data-only.
